About the research

Independent guidance for software decisions.

This site helps small businesses evaluate software they buy and explore whether coding AI and affordable hosting could support a focused tool they control.

What the conversation is for

Bring one recurring software cost or awkward workflow. We map the work, sketch what a focused application would depend on, and compare the likely cost, margin effect and ongoing responsibility. The conversation is free. It is a chance to understand the decision, not an implementation quote or a promise of savings. Sometimes the current product is the right choice.

What the research does and doesn’t establish

Vendor pages describe published features, prices and terms, with sources and checked dates where available. A source check does not mean a product was tested hands-on. Workflow examples state their assumptions and use synthetic information. Recommendations are starting points for an owner’s own diligence, not proof that custom software is right for every business.

Confirm current terms, implementation requirements, data exports and operating costs directly with the provider before committing.
